About Institute of Legal Studies

The Institute of Legal Studies [ILS], Ranchi University Ranchi was founded in 06th August 2018. Situated at the heart of the Ranchi University Morabadi campus, ILS flourishes with a lush green campus and pollution free ambience.

The ILS building is a magnificent structure, having two floors. The ground floor covers the Director office, administrative office, Legal Aid Clinic, Exam section, Class rooms, Library, Moot court, and an Auditorium (with 300 capacity) etc. The second floor covers Faculty room, Canteen, Computer lab, and Language Lab etc. ILS Faculty (total = Eleven) comprises of highly qualified & committed people in the field of Law and Management.

The Building was inaugurated by the Her Excellency the Governor of Jharkhand and Chancellor of the Universities of Jharkhand Ms. Draupadi Murmu on 6th August 2018. The Institute of Legal Studies has started its PG course LL.M in the year 2019 and in the same year Bar council of India has given affiliation to run BBALL.B (Hons) 5-year Integrated Course with strength of 60 students. Currently there are four (04) academic sessions running at the institute of the BBALL.B (Hons) 5-year integrated course and two (02) academic sessions of the LL.M course.
